Carol

What do you do for the Public Utilities Commission?
I’m an electrical engineer. PUC handles water and waste water.

Can you explain your job to someone who’s not an engineer?
Electrical distribution is part of it. We did the Bay Bridge pump station. They had a pipe for water and Caltrans let us put two conduits on the bridge. Then we just put the wires in there from wherever PG&E gave us the power. Power is done at the dams upstream. We have generation upstream and we get down to about Freemont with our own lines and then we jump on PG&E lines. It’s a bit more complex than that, but that's the idea.

How do you stay fit?
I ride my bike back and forth to work. And I take Qi Gong classes here at HSS on Wednesdays during lunch. Is that it? I’ve got to get back to work.
