I check my bloodsugar 6-8 times per day, manage my insulin pump, and visit my primary care doctor every 3 months, my Endocrinologist every 6 months, and the ophtemologist every 6 months. I also eat as much organic whole foods as possible and as little processed and preserved foods as possible. I take the stairs at work if I am going 3 or less floors. I drink lots of water and try to be positive, friendly, and upbeat at work.

I exercise 7 days a week, alternating among hand weights, yoga stretching, dance aerobics, and walking my dog. I drink water rather than caffeinated or sweetened beverages. I have an occasional glass of red wine and love dark chocolate. I have not eaten at fast food outlets for 10 years. I keep healthy snacks in my desk.

I eat fruit and vegetables on a daily basis. I am using the stairs at work more and more. I don't use alcohol or recreational drugs. I also don't use over the counter drugs. I see a accupuncturist/chinese masseuse on a regular basis. I live in Sonoma County, where I wake up to the sounds of the wind in the trees. The bottom line for staying well, is to not take the power trips, back stabbing, and cold hearted interactions even a little bit seriously.
